Romain Garioud is prize winner at such prestigious international competitions as Moscow\u2019s Tchaikovsky<\/a> (2001) and Paris\u2019 Rostropovitch<\/a> (2002).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November 2005, Romain Garioud wins the 1st Prize of Bucchi\u2019s International cello Competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He graduated from Paris\u2019 Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique<\/a> with a First Prize in both cello (1997) and chamber music (1998), having the privilege of working with such widely renowned cellists as Philippe Muller, Anner Bylsma, Natalia Chakovskaia, Steven Isserlis\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romain Garioud has won M\u00e9c\u00e9nat Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 G\u00e9n\u00e9rale and Fondation Meyer awards. In 2002, he was \u2018R\u00e9v\u00e9lation\u2019 of ADAMI (french national institution for professional musicians). His career then greatly expanded and he was invited to perform or give master-classes in many classical music venues in Europe (Festival de l\u2019Orangerie de Sceaux in France, Colonges-Bellerive and Amadeus in Swiss, Mantova in Italy \u2026.), and, more recently, in China and South America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romain Garioud recently played the Lutoslawsly\u2019s cello concerto for the Yuri Bashmet\u2019s festival, was also invited to play for the \u201cMarta Argerich Project\u201d in Lugano, substituted Natalia Gutman in the 1st Shostakovitch\u2019s Cello concerto with the orchestra \u00abCasa da Musica\u00bb of Porto (Portugal), played the Dvorjak Cello Concerto with the conductor Michael Sanderling and the Aalborg Philarmonic (DK) and with such orchestras as the Philarmonic and the Radio Orchestra of Sofia-Bulgary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He played with such conductors as Christoph Eschenbach<\/a> (Orchestre de Paris), St\u00e9phane Cardon<\/a> or Volodymir Sirenko (National of Ukraine) and with prestigious chamber music partners like Mstislav Rostropovitch<\/a>, Gilles Apap<\/a>, Dora Schwarzberg<\/a>, Pavel Gililov<\/a>, Philippe Entremont<\/a>,Menahem Presler,<\/a>\u2026in the most famous concert halls, Musikverein<\/a> and Konzerthaus<\/a> Wien, Berlin Philharmonie<\/a>. Several of his concerts were recorded by Radio France or Music Cable TV channel Mezzo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romain Garioud is willing to defend an eclectic repertoire. In chamber music as well as in his performances as a soloist, he is driven by a true passion for exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2020, is a founding member of the \u00ab\u00a0TriOdyss\u00e9e\u201c, with the violinist Laurent Albrecht Breuninger and the pianist Rinko Hama and from 2019 is Professeur in the \u00ab\u00a0Akademie f\u00fcr Tonkunst<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb in Darmstadt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s playing an exceptional Nicolai Gagliano\u2019 s cello from 1760, generously lent by Gabriele & Michael Andreae-J\u00e4ckering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
